ski and snowboard lessons

general Lesson FAQ

+ What type of lesson do I need?

If you are a "first timer", never been skiing or snowboarding before, you are best to choose the "First Timer" experience.

Otherwise, lesson descriptions are noted under the different options on this page. Click on the links for more info.

+ Can I book a semi-private snowboard lesson for my young children?

Children ages 6 and under require a private lesson, as they require one-on-one attention.

+ Do lessons include a lift ticket?

No. Only the First Timers Experience includes a lift ticket. For all other lessons, if you do not have a Season Pass you are required to purchase a lift ticket to access the hill.

+ When should I buy Lift Tickets for my lesson(s)? Should I buy a Bambi Ticket or a Full Lift Ticket?

We suggest buying your lift ticket immediately after booking your lesson (once lift tickets have gone on sale). If you are “Beginner” or “Never Ever”, just buy a Bambi Lift ticket to access our beginner hill (Bambi). If you graduate to the Chairlift during your lesson you can upgrade your ticket at the ticket window. .

If you are a “Beginner” or “Never Ever” who has purchased multi-week lessons: buy a Bambi Lift ticket for your first lesson only. At the end of your first lesson you can ask your instructor what TYPE of ticket you should buy for the following lesson (you will need a full lift ticket if you have advanced to using the chairlift).

Everyone EXCEPT “Never Evers” and “Beginners” should purchase a full lift ticket (access to the chairlift) for all your lesson dates.

+ How do I access my lesson details after I have purchased lessons?

You will get a confirmation email with the details. Otherwise, to access your Ski and Snowboard School account click HERE. You will have to create a password using the "forgot password" method if you have not logged in yet.

+ How do I know what ability level to choose?

There is an ability chart link on every lesson page that you can review prior to booking.

+ Can I request a specific instructor for my lesson?

Yes. If you purchase a private or semi-private lesson you may request a specific instructor. If they are available we will be happy to accommodate your request. However, sometimes they are already committed to another lesson.

+ Once I book a lesson online how will I know it is confirmed?

You will receive and email receipt (to the email you provided) promptly after your lesson purchase with the lesson confirmation details. Should there be any conflicts or issues with your booking, we will contact you to resolve it. *Please ensure your contact details are correct.

+ What if I don't receive a confirmation receipt?

Please check your spam/junk folders first. If a receipt is not found, email snowschool@batawaskihill.com with the details of your purchase.

+ How far in advance should I book my lesson?

The First Timers Experience can be booked online up to three hours before the experience start time. We may be able to accommodate last minute bookings in person at the snow school window.

We recommend that you book private/semi-private lessons online at least 48 hours, or more, in advance. Booking less than 48 hours in advance must be done over the phone. We cannot guarantee a lesson the day of. Instructors are scheduled in advance. If you are flexible sometimes we are able to fit people in.

+ Where do I meet for my lesson?

Check in at the Ski and Snowboard School kiosk window. You will be given directions from there on where to meet your instructor.

+ What if I can't make my scheduled lesson?

Please review our Ski and Snowboard School Policy for details.
