2012 Summer Day Camp Info is here! Read below for all the info:

Registration Fees

 $150 per camper for 5 day program weeks

$120 per camper for 4 day program week (August 7)

15% discount per second child (applies to same family and weekly rates only)

Daily rate $35.00 per camper

Times: 8:30am – 5:00pm

Extended hours:  8:00am to 8:30am and/ or 5:00pm to 5:30pm

Extended hours rate: $30 per camper ($15 for early or late per camper, $30 for both per camper)

Healthy lunch and afternoon snack included!

 How to Pay

 Please make cheques payable to Batawa Ski Hill. Payment by cash, cheque, credit card or debit can be made at Batawa Ski Hill Monday through Friday between 9:30am and 4:30pm. Send or drop off a completed registration form for each child with method of payment to the address, email or fax number below.

 Refund Policy

 Refunds will NOT be granted if Camp Staff is not notified within 3 days from the start of the camp. $25 admin fee will apply for a refund or NSF cheque. If there is a change in your plans, please let us know as soon as possible. If your child is asked to leave because of his/her behavior at camp, no refund will be issued. There is no refund for missed camp days. Refunds will be made by cheque only. Please allow for 5 to 7 business days for processing.

 What to Pack

 Campers should pack appropriate footwear and clothing for the weather and days activities. No flip flops or open toed shoes. Majority of camp activities will take place outside so sunscreen or bug repellent should be worn. You will be notified by staff when campers should bring swimwear and towels. Please include campers name on all belongings. Campers are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles and litterless snacks. Please no iPod’s or handheld video games. Campers will be required to bring their own bike and helmet when necessary. Call the ski hill for more info or if you have any questions regarding the camp.

Week 1 (July 9 – July 13) & Week 8 (August 27 – August 31)

Dino Dayz – Prehistoric adventure awaits as junior paleontologists and geologists learn all about dinosaurs and rocks in our interactive research camp. Campers will discover fossils, ancient minerals, create fossil rubbings, see life sized dinosaur footprints and make a casting of their own footprint to take home. The tree house will give campers a Pterodactyl view of their fellow explorers unearthing a 12 meter Tyrannosaurus, scaling the horns of a triceratops, discovering a life size baby dinosaur and crawling through a giant dino-egg!

 Week 2 (July 16 – July 20) & Week 7 (August 20 – August 24)

Hike & Bike Week – This week campers learn safe hiking practices and develop cross country biking skills including braking, cornering, climbing, descending, maneuvering around obstacles, safety and general trail etiquette. Campers will discover beautiful views from the ski hill summit and explore the outdoors on the more than 25 kilometers of natural trails and 1600 acres of natural areas around Batawa. Campers will hike through wooded areas and wetlands exploring our natural environment. Bike rides on trials through grassland and highland areas of natural and scientific interest give campers an exciting and healthy way to discover local geography. Bike rides include tours around Batawa trails, the Lower Trent Trail along the historic Trent River and to the Bleasdell Boulder. All campers must bring their own bike and helmet.

 Week 3 (July 23 – July 27) & Week 6 (August 13 – August 17)

Eco Adventure – Campers experience interactive and educational outdoor adventure learning about the eco zones in and around Batawa including wetlands and riparian zones, wilderness survival and identification of vegetation and wildlife. Campers will set up camp sites, build natural shelters and learn hiking and back country exploration safety and ethics. Our Indiana Jones Adventure will have campers following clues and maps using geo-caching and wayfaring techniques, play paleontologist digging up a 40’ T-Rex, scaling a life sized triceratops and exploring the reason dinosaurs are now extinct. Campers will ascend to the summit of “Mt. Batawa” for a bird’s eye view of the geography they will be exploring. Campers can chose to bring their bikes and helmets or hike the trails and discover nature throughout the Areas of Natural Scientific Interest (ANSI) in and around Batawa.

 Week 4 (July 30 – August 3) & Week 5 (August 7 – August 10)

Summer Olympics – Campers are all Olympians this week going for gold in the Batawa Olympics. Campers get to create their own countries, design their own flag and uniform. Campers will challenge each other and camp leaders in both traditional and adventure sports. This camp will teach proper techniques and improve your skills on a variety of team sports including baseball, tennis, basketball, flag football and soccer. Campers spend a day orienteering and finding hidden treasures all around Batawa.
